Staff
At Ortho Care Physical Therapy, you will find the most dedicated and caring staff. We continually update our physical therapy programs. Our staff attends continuing education courses and seminars regularly. Each staff member attends at least two advanced training seminars each year to keep up with the latest developments in physical therapy and rehabilitation.

Apostolos
(Paul) Kerasiotis, D.P.T
Owner/Administrator/Physical Therapist
Apostolos
Kerasiotis, DPT, is the owner/operator of Ortho Care Physical Therapy,
Inc. He is a graduate of Boston University, Doctor of Physical Therapy
with research emphasis on Low Light Laser Therapy. He has completed
Masters work in Exercise Physiology at Oakland University and holds
a Bachelors of Science Degree, from Wayne State University in Physical
Therapy. He is a member of the Michigan Physical Therapy Association
(MPTA), American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and a member
of the Macomb County Chamber of Commerce.
In
private practice since 1985, his focus has always been to put the
patient first and to create a warm and friendly environment.
Kerasiotis,
has extensive experience in acute care hospitals in combination
with extensive care facilities and was director of rehab services
for Redford Community Hospital, and, two extensive care facilities,
Martha T. Berry in Macomb County, MI and Bon Secour Nursing Care
in St. Clair Shores, MI.
Kerasiotis
was born in Sparta, Greece and received training for his first career
at Kymi Naval Academy. He has completed 16 marathons in Detroit,
Boston, Chicago and Greece. He is a member of a competitive cycling
team and participates annually in several cycling races, including
the HellofaRide, and Multiple Sclerosis, MS 150 race, with the Ortho
Care cycling team. Because of his commitment to sports, he has established
an emphasis on sports medicine and is recognized in this field by
patients and referring physicians alike.

Kimm
Walleman, M.P.T
Physical Therapist
Kimm
was raised in Clinton Township, Mi. She graduated from Chippewa Valley
High School in 1994 as Valedictorian of her class.She participated
in Volleyball, Track, and Cross-country in High School and Volleyball
at CMU. Kimm became a certified Special Olympics coach and coached
vollyball for the Special Olympics Organization in Blacksburg, Virginia
(VT) She worked as a lab assistant for Gross Anatomy and Neuroanatomy
classes for Physical Therapy students at Oakland University. She graduated
with top honors, summa cum laude, in both her BS and MPT.
Kimm's strongest asset as a therapist would be her ability to develop
fun, yet challenging, functional exercise programs for individuals
of varying ages and previous functional levels, including high performance
athletes. She also enjoys working on patients with foot injuries or
Sacroiliac dysfunction.Kimm has a special interest in pre and post-natal
exercise and would like to work with this population of patients in
the future. |

Ellen
Gough, P.T.
Physical Therapist
Mary
Ellen Gough is a part time Physical Therapist at OCPT. She graduated
from Wayne State University in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science with
high distinction in Physical Therapy and a Bachelor of Science in
Psychology. She has attended numerous continuing education courses
throughout her 26+ years as a physical therapist.
Her career began at Providence Hospital in Southfield where she
worked for 5 years as a staff PT with experience in orthopedic,
neurological, amputee, and oncology patients. She took a year off
to care for her parents when her mother suffered a stroke during
surgery for ovarian cancer in September 1992 and her father was
paralyzed after spinal surgery in January 1983.
She
returned to work for Bon Secours Hospital at their out-patient clinic
in St. Clair Shores where she worked as a staff therapist for 10
years. During the last 5 years she also worked as clinical education
coordinator for staff education and student internships. She was
active in the MPTA special interest group, Detroit Area Clinical
Educator Forum, and served as Treasurer for 5 years.
She
moved to Henry Ford Rehabilitation in Warren in 1996 and specialized
in orthopedics until she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003.
She
resumed her career with OCPT in 2006 after her successful battle
with cancer. Having had the personal experience of loss of function,
she is thankful that she is, once again, able to help her patients
reach their goals!
Ellen was born in Detroit, Michigan and has lived in the area her
entire life. She believes her greatest assets are faith, family,
and a positive outlook on life.

Kathy
Winkelman PTA Liscensed
Physical Therapy Assistant
Kathy
has been a Physical Therapist Assistant for 15 years graduating
from Macomb Community College with an associate degree. Kathy has
also successfully obtained licensure through the state of Indiana.
She has gained extensive knowledge and experience in various fields
of physical therapy such as acute care in hospitals, nursing homes,
neuro-rehab facilities, and outpatient settings.
Kathy
has earned certificates in extended education classes in Dynamic
Stabilization of the lumbar spine, as well as Biodex Isokinetic
Testing and Rehabilitation.

Laura
Fluke
Physical Therapy Assistant
Laura
graduated from Macomb Community College in 2005. Since graduation,
Laura has gained a wide variety of experience working in outpatient
orthopedic clinics gathering many different skills that greatly
benefit her patients. She has a passion for physical therapy and
this shows in attention to detail that she offers her patients.
Her
philosophy is to create an individualized exercise program that
puts the fun in functional so that each patient reaches
their therapy goals as efficiently as possible.
Laura
is well trained in manual therapy techniques that work toward increasing
flexibility and maintaining proper musculoskeletal alignment.
Laura has had
personal experience as a physical therapy patient as she underwent
a Total Knee Replacement in 2005. She understands that many of her
patients are not dealing simply with the physical issue that causes
them to seek treatment, but also the emotional toll it takes on
everything else in everyday life.
In her spare
time Laura enjoys reading, as well as, writing with hopes of becoming
a published author.

Demitri
Kerasiotis
PT Tech
Physical
Therapy Tech - Demitri Kerasiotis has been with OCPT for the last
four years. He is a graduate of Grosse Pointe North High School,
and is presently attending Oakland University, where he is pursuing
a degree in Physical Therapy. In addition, to assisting with
administering the different PT modalities, he transcribes progress
notes for the physical therapy clinical staff. He feels that
the experience he has received at OCPT has uniquely positioned him
for success in attaining his career goals and looks forward to advancing
in the profession.
Demitri is proud of his Hellenic heritage, and was pleased to travel
to Greece this summer, where he attended the University of Indianapolis’
study abroad program. His courses included, Greek Language
and Greek Mythology and Religion. In addition, to the Greek
language, he has studied Japanese, and Italian. He is an avid
movie buff and regularly shares lines from his favorite movie dialogues.
He can also be found biking throughout the Grosse Pointes as part
of the Ortho Care cycling team.

Linda
Cunningham, M.A.
Vocational Specialist
Linda Cunningham has
a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Wayne State University and
a Master's Degree in Health Care Administration from Central Michigan
University. Linda has been a practicing Social Worker in the Rehabilitation
field since 1983. In addition to performing social work services,
Linda also works with autistic impaired and learning-disabled students
in the Grosse Pointe School system.
Besides her
professional work experience, Linda is a long time member of the
National Association of Social Workers and served as the Chair of
the Board of Social Work Examiners for the State of Michigan for
10 years. Linda is also actively involved in the community and has
been on the working board for Friends of Belle Isle, whose mission
is to preserve and protect the island's natural environment, since
1990.
Linda is married
and lives with her husband, three dogs and two turtles on the east
side of Detroit.

Elena
Kerasiotis
President, Administrator (Sterling Heights)
Elena
Kerasiotis has been president of Ortho Care Physical Therapy, Inc.
since its inception in December 1992. In her capacity as president,
she has been responsible for management and administration of payroll,
promotion, and accounts payables. She is further responsible
for payment of tax, unemployment, and benefit management. She is
also involved in purchasing and major acquisitions, and banking.
Most recently, she was instrumental in establishing the OCPT website,
www.orthocarephysicaltherapy.com.
She
holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University,
where she majored in Psychology. She is a certified Web Designer,
through Lawrence Institute of Technology, and Photographer, from
Macomb Community College. She is proficient in Microsoft Office
software, and has completely reviewed the content of Ortho Care
Physical Therapy, Inc.’s Policies and Procedures Manual.
She also has assumed full responsibility for yearly
and quarterly Program Evaluations and Professional Committee Meeting
record management.
